Kastela is a series of seven towns in central Dalmatia, located northwest of Split, west of Solin and east of Trogir, in Croatia. They are part of the Split-Dalmatia county and are treated as a single city although they are individually between 2,500 and 6,500 residents each. The Kastela (which is plural of Kastel) include: Kastel Gomilica, Kastel Kambelovac, Kastel Luksic, Kastel Novi, Kastel Stari, Kastel Sucurac and Kastel Stafilic.
Every of 7 kastels was built around a castle; a tower which had a defensive purpose, and that’s why the place is called Kastela (Kastel means Castle). Today, those castles are part of cultural heritage, and some of them are open for public. Find property for sale in Kastela.
