Mlada Boleslav is a town with a rich history and highly developed industry. The origins of Mlada Boleslav are linked to the Premyslid hill fort dating back to the mid 10th century. Mlada Boleslav was at the height of its fame in the mid 15th century when the Unity of Brethren operated in the town. The beginnings of the modern economic prosperity of Mlada Boleslav go back to 1895 when Vaclav Klement and Vaclav Laurin set up a bicycle factory, where in 1905 the first Czech car was made.
